Georges Cadoudal Memorial Medal
Georges Cadoudal (1771-1804) was leader of the Chouans, peasant farmers in Western France who rose against the French Revolutionary government in 1793. Cadoudal was executed by guillotine in 1804 at the hands of the Republicans. This medal was issued to mark the bi-centenary of his birth. The Chouans used the hoot of an owl as a signal, hence the image on the reverse of the medal. Jean-Pierre Rohu (1771-1849) was Lieutenant to Cadoudal.

Alfred opened the shop in 1907 and continued to trade in that location right up to his death in March 1952 at the age of 93.
